Child Update

Julia is going almost seven hours at a stretch between feedings at night, so we are very proud of our parenting skills. She is getting big very quickly, much as Dora did at that age. She's starting to look a little different than Dora, and in looking back at old pictures we are starting to see some ways to tell them apart. Dora was showing her dimples at this age, and it looks like Julia doesn't have any.

Dora is sleeping more and more in her big girl bed, which is good news for me because she sleeps much better there. She is starting to get excited about her birthday, and we are getting anxious about throwing her first real birthday party. Wish us luck!

The Importance of Backups

I haven't posted in a while because I've been recovering from a total harddrive crash. I still haven't figured out everything we've lost, but unless we pay big bucks for a data recovery (and maybe not even then) we're going to lose several months of pictures.

I bought a DVD burner, so hopefully with some discipline I'll do backups on a regular basis. This brought home to me how fragile digital stuff is, and yet, if I only took pictures on film, we wouldn't have a fraction of what we do now.

News from the front

Dora continues to move back and forth between the big-girl bed and the crib. She sleeps much better in the new bed, but so far we aren't willing to take her crib away. I think the day is approaching though.

Julia is getting bigger and sleeping better every day. Last night she went about five and a half hours between feedings, her best yet. I have her a bottle again and it went pretty well. We are both very glad that she is so relatively undemanding.
